Antalya AYT Airport is the main airport in Antalya Province. The airport is located 10 km from the city centre of Antalya.

As one of the most popular holiday destinations of the country and probably of Europe, the one can chose direct flight option from many countries to Antalya. The Antalya airport welcomes every year more than 25 million passengers with flight connections to hundreds of international cities. Therefore, it is very easy to reach Antalya directly from Europe, Russia and Middle East. There are more than 20 regular scheduled flights between Istanbul and Antalya and regular direct flights from other cities.

HOW TO GET THERE

By Plane

The International Antalya Airport provides for direct flights and charters that fly vacationers from all over the world.

Direct Flights: You can directly fly to Antalya International Airport from Europe, Russia or Middle East.

Connecting Flights: You can reach Antalya via Istanbul by taking an international flight to Istanbul. There are two airports in Istanbul: Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. The journey from Istanbul to Antalya takes about 1 hour. There are more than 20 regular scheduled flights between Istanbul and Antalya daily.

By Bus

Antalya is a destination that can be reached from everywhere in Turkey. The buses leaving from or getting to the Antalya Bus Station drive along the E87, D400, D650 routes.

By Car

Driving to Antalya is a scenic and enjoyable road trip. For example, driving from Istanbul to Antalya covers about 700 to 800 kilometers (depending on the route you take).

Option 1: Via Afyon (D650) (~700 km) - This is the faster and more popular route.

Option 2: Via D400 Coastal Road (Scenic Route): (~900 km) - This takes you through coastal cities like İzmir and Muğla.

LOCATION

Türkiye straddles both Europe and Asia with the greatest proportion of its territory in Southwest Asia. It has a total area of 780,580 square kilometres. The country is bounded to the east by Georgia, Armenia and Iran, and to the south by Iraq, Syria and the Mediterranean Sea, to the west by Greece, Bulgaria and the Aegean Sea, and to the north by the Black Sea.

LANGUAGE

Turkish is an Ural-Altaic language related to the Finno-Ugric. Turkish is written in a Latin alphabet and is spoken by some 150-200 million people around the world. English and German and French are widely spoken in cities and resorts.

CURRENCY

The Turkish Lira is available in notes and coins. The exchange rate is set on a daily basis. There are many banks and exchange bureaus. Traveller's checks can be cashed at most banks. Hotels and many shops and restaurants accept foreign currency.

COMMUNICATION

Turkish Telecom Inc. is the only telecom service provider. All hotels have direct dial telephone systems in the rooms. Türkiye has 3 major GSM operators (Turkcell, Vodafone, Turk Telekom). Please consult your local GSM operator to find out if they have roaming agreement with Turkish Operators. Post offices are open for general business between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday.

VISAS

Visas are required for entry into Türkiye by nationals of some countries. Ministry of Foreign Affairs is very supportive for the procedures required for international congresses & exhibitions taking place in the country. CUSTOMS

Visitors may bring an unlimited amount of Turkish or foreign currency with them into Türkiye, but they may take out of the country only $5000 or other currencies in cash equal to this amount. There are no restrictions on the transfer of Turkish or foreign money to other countries through banks. Jewellery made of precious stones or metals that is not valued at more than $15000 and is not intended for commercial uses may be brought in and out of the country.
